September Book Box Club unboxing!

It’s been TOO long since I last did an unboxing! This is my first Book Box Club box that I’ve ever had, after meeting the people behind it at YALC this year and looking it up on instagram later – I just had to give it a try! The theme for September was INTO THE WILD which immediately got my attention and what with it being their anniversary and a SECOND book which was an ARC being featured in the box, I was hooked and sent that money out of my account straight away.

The box was seriously one of the best book boxes I’ve ever had with all the items relating to the theme and the items being things I would never have even thought of putting in a book box! It really felt like unwrapping a special present and it has really made me want to get future boxes from Book Box Club.

Items included in the box were:

  • The Lost Boys notebook designed by Georgine Makes
  • Adventurer’s remedy massage bar by Naked Sister (a seriously gorgeous bar that was so soothing on my feet after working all day!)
  • Cabeswater candle by Bookworm Candles & Crafts
  • Into the Wild scarf by Book Box Club (I’ve already worn it as a scrunchie in my hair and loved it! It’s so versatile and can be worn a number of ways)
  • Camper’s picnic bag by Sass and Belle
  • other bookish goodness: reader’s pin, a Dry sampler

I LOVED the things included in this box! The picnic bag was such a surprise and I just loved how it fitted in with the theme so well. Same with the scarf, decorated with little trees and such like the Into the Wild card inside the box! I’ve already used the massage bar and thought it was a brilliant item for the box (and much appreciated by my feet!) and who doesn’t love a candle or a notebook?

And now for the main event – the book featured in this September’s INTO THE WILD box was…

This book sounds like such a good autumnal read – here’s the synopsis of goodreads:

Mari Turner’s life is perfect. That is, at least to her thousands of followers who have helped her become an internet starlet. But when she breaks down and posts a video confessing she’s been living a lie—that she isn’t the happy, in-love, inspirational online personality she’s been trying so hard to portray—it goes viral and she receives major backlash. To get away from it all, she makes an impulsive decision: to hike the entire John Muir trail. Mari and her late cousin, Bri, were supposed to do it together, to celebrate their shared eighteenth birthday. But that was before Mari got so wrapped up in her online world that she shut anyone out who questioned its worth—like Bri.

With Bri’s boots and trail diary, a heart full of regret, and a group of strangers that she meets along the way, Mari tries to navigate the difficult terrain of the hike. But the true challenge lies within, as she searches for the way back to the girl she fears may be too lost to find: herself.

And because this was the anniversary of Book Box Club, a second book was included which was an ARC of an upcoming fantasy release…

I can’t wait to get stuck into this with its gorgeous cover and thrilling-sounding description.

Synopsis from goodreads:

The rite has existed for as long as anyone can remember: when the prince-who-will-be-king comes of age, he must venture out into the gray lands, slay a fierce dragon, and rescue a damsel to be his bride. This is the way things have always been.

When Ama wakes in the arms of Prince Emory, however, she knows none of this. She has no memory of what came before she was captured by the dragon, or what horrors she has faced in its lair. She knows only this handsome prince, the story he tells of her rescue, and her destiny to sit on the throne beside him. Ama comes with Emory back to the kingdom of Harding, hailed as the new princess, welcomed to the court.

However, as soon as her first night falls, she begins to realize that not all is as it seems, that there is more to the legends of the dragons and the damsels than anyone knows–and that the greatest threats to her life may not be behind her, but here, in front of her.

And there you have it! The people at Book Box Club really went to extra lengths to make this box a special one and I’m so glad I got the September box. October’s looks amazing as well and I’d get it if I had unlimited money! You should definitely check out this amazing subscription service and their past boxes to get a feel for what they include and whether you’d like it or not. Here’s a photo of my unboxing!

This is one very satisfied bookworm 🙂
